.NET: It's About Trust!

Try these, all free.
www.freebasic.net is a updated 32 bits compiler very compatible with
qbasic code.
www.rapideuphoria.com a programming language as simple as BASIC, have
interpreters for DOS32, Win32, Linux, BSD and OS X. at first sigth
don't look great, but once you know the dynamic arrays system you will
be hooked. In the "Archive" there is a qbasic to Euphoria translator.
Also a Euphoria to C translator. So don't include compiler but you can
compile the C code.
www.justbasic.com a windows BASIC interpreter very compatible with MS
Basic syntax.
That's my fave. I like it so much I bought the pro version (very cheap).
Mr Winer!
Nice to see that you continues supporting the BASIC community.
I would like to suggest you to make a check of Euphoria Language.
www.rapideuphoria.com, is a great language that few people knows,
may be you can write a good book about :-)
Best regards
