SBS 2008 Premium SQL installation

Server vendors install standard edition when premium edition is purchased.
You are given a license to install SBS Premium on another machine so that you
can install SQL or you can install it as a virtual server on the same server.
Can I just install SQL on the "standard" version and forget about the virtual
install all together? The only reason that we buy Premium is for the SQL.
