right click in explorer window and make new folder; folder doesnt show until
f5 or refresh is pressed
rename this new folder;folder is renamed however it still shows 'new folder'
as the name until f5 or refresh is pressed
this is just for network locations on our SBS2000 server.
I've done windows update for both the server and xp workstations but it
doesnt seem to help.. just a bit confused :-/ And it just isnt 1 machine
thats affected, it seems to be at least two...
Thanks for any suggestions!

I just tried it on my XP workstation, and it seems to work fine. Appears
that this same fix has been around since Windows 95.

Actually, I've experienced this problem also and never found a fix
nor any solutions:

Now that i've read your solution, I will try it out. First I will try
to see if my original problem still does occur, if it does, i'll change
the registry, reboot and try again.

Since Windows 95? Do you still have the information you found
to get to this solution? I'd like to read about it and understand what
this registry UpdateMode is doing?
Thanks

And the problem is no longer occuring, and i've never done anything to fix
it. It might be
a Windows Update or SP1 that maybe had fixed the problem.
I checked the Registry key, it is set to 1.
I'll keep this registry setting in mind, in case this problem happens
with me again, maybe on another machine.
Thanks
