I just set up a new user on SBS2000. When opening outlook, I get a message
that says:
"Unable to open default email folder. You do not have permission to log on.
Would you like to open your default file system folder instead?"

This user does have a valid password and can access the server. Any help on
how to resolve this problem?
thank you

The first thing would be to go to Control Panel -> Mail and see what mail
folder is trying to open. Chances are that the currently logged in user's
profile is pointing to the wrong mailbox (hence the warning that you don't
have permission to log in).

If not, try creating a new profile for the user. If it fails, please post
back the specific errors you run into.

thanks for your helped. That worked - I removed MS Exchange server and then
re added it in because it did not allow changing the default email box it
showed. After adding in I then input the correct email box.
