Cannot get the USB Audio Device to show as a Sound Device in Playb

Am running Server 2008 SBS SP1 but cannot get the USB Audio Device to show
as a Sound Device in Playback Devices
Have installed KB944681-v2-x64
In the device manager the device shows as installed under Sound, Video and
Game Controllers

any help would be much appreciated, this has almost driven me mad :)
Oh by the way I have no problems running this in Windows 7 x64 or XP Pro x64
The device is a cheap USB Sound Card that is meant to run off the Microsoft
Drivers.
Oh and just to confirm the Windows Audio Service is set to Automatic, and
Started.
