Inventory closing: ledger posting

Our inventory closing runs several hours.
During the calculations, I can see that status in tab "session" (last
number, next number, ...) => o.k.
But when the calculation status is "ledger posting", I do not know how to
see if AX is still working (we recently had the problem, that AX hung up due
to errors).
Does anyone know?
