First, Egyptian is a dialect, not a language. The language is Arabic.
After you learn that, the Egyptian dialect is fairly straightforward. So,
my question is: Do you already speak Arabic? If so, pick up a couple cd's
on the Egyptian Dialect and get cracking. If not, I'd advise learning it
before trying Egyptian. You'll have a language that is far more widely
understood.

MSA (Modern Standard Arabic) will be understood by almost every native
speaker, so the only difficulty will be in understanding what you are
hearing from them.

Arabic-Aravt is a "Modern" LANGUAGE.
Ivrit-Hebrew is a "Modern" Language basead on a Ancient Language like
Egyptian Language.

Both, Aravit and Ivrit are Semitic/Hamito-Semitic Languages.
