I've been trying to run windows update and it requires the installation of
activex control. The pop up for downloading it doesn't uppear on my browser.
Does anyone know how to get this??? I've been trying with MS support with out
luck... Very frustrating!!

... and to top it all, this window makes me go through hell to find the
discussion group that I was already looking at before I clicked on new
question...!!! which ofcourse I may not find in this list which isn't even
alphabetical...

I'm having the same issue. I uninstalled IE8, am running IE7, tried
reinstalling IE7 from Microsoft. I get the drop-down and click on Run, but
it acts like it doesn't install and I keep on getting the ActiveX bar. I
can't run updates either or install any ActiveX controls for that matter.
Hope to get some answers soon. Let me know if you get an answer. Thanks.
