Another trick when confronted with such pop-ups is to press Alt + F4. That
closes the topmost window.

Thanks for the warning... are they working on fixing that? Do they even
know it's happening?

I'm a member of AWF and as far as I know, 1) I've not seen this
behavior, but that may be due to me not using IE or even Windows. 2)
Someone did start a thread about that but discussions seems to suggest
it's a problem with DNS, as AWF changed hosts recently, 3) someone else
did report that AWF was giving out virus but other members couldn't see
the same thing and attributed this to malware on the user's computer
rather to AWF itself.
However you slice it, they should be at least aware of it.
Here's the link to the discussion regarding #3... Again, I can't
guarantee you that it won't misbehave - I can only report that I've not
observed it. Caveat lector.

I visit that site nearly every day and have never seen a single
popup window, ever.
Now, I never use Internet Explorer, and have Flashblock loaded in
Firefox (which is my default browsers).
I know they took the site down for a major overhaul last weekend.
Perhaps that was to remove the malware? Hmm. It seems they switched
hosts on 3/26, so maybe that wasn't it.
What's the evidence for the malware? Google doesn't identify it as
being suspect, and they're very slow to remove infected sites from
their warning list.
Do you have any credible evidence for your assertion at all?
Or are you just trying to damage the reputation of a fine
Access-related site?

Don't click on any of the links listed in the first message.
Why do you say that? Whenever I click on them, it just brings up an
archived page of the forum. What do you see? Maybe it's related to
just archived pages?

Because the links are to one of those pages that re-opens itself
when you try to close it. Of course, I'm assuming one clicks CANCEL
and not OK.

No, the links on that page are clearly booby-trapped. I'm not
necessarily meaning to suggest that the person who posted them was
setting the trap, but they are definitely annoying.
