I am shocked.
I am destroyed.
I am riddled.
I am indignant.

What do we all do when a new version of Access arrives at our
desktops?

Right: We open Northwind.mdb (who remebers Nwind.mdb?)
We open the Employess form.
We want to see the smile of Nancy Davolio.

The sweet mysterious smile of Nancy Davolio, where Mona Lisa simply
must turn pale.

But now - Access 2007 - she is gone. No trace left. Where is she?
(Sure, there is a Nancy Freehafer - but what kind of name is this?
What Iam I going to do wih this heifer? There is not even a photo.)

Nancy Davolio, the True Guarantee that Access is allright, whatever
the dark giant at the strange place called Saddle, that noone ever has
seen, deems fit to spit out of his bowels at us?

Nancy Davolio, the Secret Spirit and Soul of Access?
The True and Unswerving Champion of Access?
Where is she??

They cannot do this to us.

All rise and chant with me:

We Want Nancy Davolio Back!
We Want Nancy Davolio Back!!
We Want Nancy Davolio Back!!!

Yours truly
Mathias Kläy

Aussie Access Developer

As noted by Matthias Klaey Nancy Davolio is missing from the Northwind Traders sample
Access database from Microsoft.

From the Northwind database it will be seen that Nancy hailed from Colorado and she studied at
Colorado State University where she received a BA in psychology in 1970. She later moved to
Seattle Washington and joined the illustrious team at Northwind Traders in May of 1992.

Nancy was a very outdoorsy kind of girl and listed her hobbies as hiking, rock-climbing, camping
and fishing amongst others. In 1997 she married long-time boyfriend Ed Freehafer and they would
often spend their vacations in the wilds of the Canadian Rockies.

Sadly it was on one of these vacations that the Freehafers met with a grizzly fate. They were
attacked by bears and were tragically killed. They were not killed by grizzly bears as was first thought
and it was not until the investigation team had a fortuitous visit from an Australian game-keeper
who informed the investigation team that the attack had all the hallmarks of a Drop-Bear attack.

The Australian, Russel Coight, a very experienced Aussie Bushman, advised that the Australian
Drop-Bear is a particularly vicious marsupial that hides in the tops of trees and drops unexpectedly
upon campers.
