I designed a Data Access Page. It works well at the office, but a user from
the field said she got this error: "Data provider could not be initialized"
and "Microsoft Jet database cannot open file. It is already open exclusively
by another user or you need permission to view file". Can anyone help?

I have established a Data Access Page, where the html file can be shared with
field offices. However, the DAP refers back to the database, and even though
I moved the database under the same folder, the field offices are unable to
access the data through the DAP. It seems like some type of access issue.
Help?

You cannot use the ODBC or the OLEDB provider for MS-Access/JET over the WAN
(Wide Area Network, Internet), only over a local LAN or through a VPN (but
in this case, the performance will be abysmal). If you want to go over the
WAN, you could use SQL-Server as the backend (performance will be OK is you
know how to do it right, otherwise it will plunge down too) or use remoting
with Terminal Server (probably your best option in term of simplicity and
performance but this is not a free solution).

In all cases, using Data Access Pages is more or less a dead end: they have
been deprecated in Access 2007 and probably won't be supported at all with
Access 2010.
