  Hi &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Apparently my cam is being detected and the module which is being loaded is &lt;br&gt; gspca_sonixj &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Its just dont work properly though. Verified the same with different &lt;br&gt; distros, same image. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;So i guess my cam doesnt have a fully functional driver yet :-( &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;is v4l-dvb any different from gspca_sonixj?

  I&#39;m pretty sure that webcam is supported by the sonixj gspca subdriver &lt;br&gt; which should be included with the standard linux kernel. So it should &lt;br&gt; auto detect the webcam when you plug the webcam in. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Brian Johnson

  Forcing a model won&#39;t help because if the driver is unable to &lt;br&gt; communicate with the sensor over any of the valid i2c addresses used &lt;br&gt; by your camera even if you forced it to use a particular sensor it &lt;br&gt; still would not be able to talk to communicate with said sensor. &lt;br&gt; Seeing as how windows also seems to be failing to work correctly my
