So anybody got something to talk about at this week's michipug?

I'm sick, and may not make it, so we may also need someone to help out
with being the master of ceremonies ;)

I've been thinking that I want to give a talk on Python in the Windows
environment, but I won't be ready for Thursday. I could be ready for
next month, though. (I would show taking a trivial PyGTK app and
creating an EXE using py2exe, then creating an installer using WIX. I
would also touch on reading and writing Excel files.)

That would be one meeting I'd really try to make.

Bruce,

I use Windows at work and wrote a script to help create and manage virtualenvs (similar to Doug Hellmann's virtualenvwrapper bash script) that works with cmd.exe. The source is hosted on Bitbucket:

Thought it might be of interest to you.

Any ideas yet? Looking back through the forums I see that pydermonkey
was brought up recently. Can anybody demonstrate that? Maybe a free-
form discussion meeting or a jam?

I second that. I often wonder how much less painful I could make Windows using python.

It doesn't sound like Joe is going to be ready for Thursday though. We
still need something for this time around.

Ok, so it's a grab bag topic meeting this week, since nobody proposed
to do a talk.

Let's turn this thread into a list of things that we might want to
discuss at the meeting, and perhaps it'll work out that we can have
some things to talk about at the meeting and people who know enough to
talk about them. ;)

I've been playing with paver and looking at fabric and would like to
ask around what people are using (one/other/both) and where they find
they line up the uses for each.
