It occurs to me that we're rapidly approaching the meeting time. It's
coming up on Thursday.

Anyone have a topic?

I could talk about Impressive.  It's a neat python presentation app I'm using to run Ignite Tuesday night (igniteannarbor.com).  Runs PDFs or directories of images, lots of options, scriptable.

But it would only take up 10 minutes.

Come see it in action Tuesday!  There's still spots available.

I could give a talk on the growing presence of Python scripting in
visual effects. Most major vfx tools now support some type of Python
scripting. I'm not a Python developer yet, but now seems like a good
time to learn if you are interested in visual effects.

This would be my first meeting, so I might need some guidance on talk
length, pdf?, ppt?, etc.

Thanks,

Terry

We could probably go with both your topic and Ryan's.

MichiPUG is a very informal group and we're open to any style of presentation/discussion. We usually end up leaving at around 9PM (some of us heading out to a nearby bar for food/drink as desired). Any time that's open between the 7pm to 9pm slot usually gets filled with random discussion... we're all geeks, and there's always something interesting happening to talk about.

We could also discuss 3.1, which just recently came out.

Ordered dictionaries are in.

Yeah, there's always plenty to talk about ;)

Is anyone actively using Python 3.0 yet?
