Hi -

Have been lurking on the list a while and might be interested in attending a meeting *sometime*

Is Thurs 4/2 next meeting? What might I expect if I make it down? (Is about a 2.5 hr trip each way for me.) I mainly use Python for file transfers but have other interests also.

Thanks for any info,

Nancy

I'll not quite have made it back from PyCon on thursday, but I'd
expect that some others will be back and might be willing to report on
some of the great stuff that is happening here.

I will not be attending this week, because I have family in town. But, I was also not at PyCon, so I wouldn't have anything interesting to say about that anyhow.

Also note that Darrell Hawley will be speaking on IronPython next
week, Wednesday April 8, at the Ann Arbor .NET developer meeting.
This meeting will also be held at SRT Solutions, but at 6 pm.

Thanks for all the replies... I probably will make it down tonight.
See (some of) you then!

I have an interest in IronPython because we have an in-house image analysis tool written in C++ .NET, and it has the ability to load plugin dlls to a form pane for custom image processing algorithms.  I've been wondering if I could somehow use IronPython to write these plugins, but haven't been able to sort this out.  I believe I once was reading on the IronPython page that this was problematic for some reason.

Anyway, hopefully I can figure this out tonight, or if someone knows about this, please feel free to respond.

Cheers,
Ryan

Forwarding your note to Darrell Hawley, who will be speaking on
IronPython next week, at the AADND.org meeting. He's not going to
make it tonight, though.

Were you able to solve your problem? IronPython in Action - just
published in the past week - has an excellent example of a plugin
architecture that would probably help you out. You'll have to
undertand the DLR's hosting api to some degree and of course the
Python syntax, but it is something very doable.

I got a little confused about this presentation, it's at the .NET meeting next week, not MichiPUG last night.  I consequently haven't examined it yet, but thanks for this additional resource.  I will have to take a look before the meeting next week.
