Because you are in my network you are the first to know. I wanted you
to be at the front of the opportunity.

This information will go out up on southwest.com, radio, etc. later
this week.

Here are the details:

It has long been the perception that to get hired at Southwest
Airlines you would need to start as a contractor.
*** MYTH BUSTER *** You do not have to start as a contractor to work
for Southwest Airlines in our Technology Department.
Technology candidates can be hired directly into permanent positions
by the Technology Recruiters in the Southwest Airlines People
Department with Full Benefits.

We will be opening up several positions, 16+ candidates (two
different positions descriptions) with the following skills:

First position: Java Client Developer
* Minimum 5 yrs Application development experience
* 3-5 yrs Java Client Development using Java AWT and/or Swing
* 3-5 yrs OO Analysis & Design
* 3 yrs UML (Class Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, etc.)
-Non-Technical Skills-
* A minimum of 5-8 yrs IT experience on multiple platforms/technologies
* Demonstrated success and strong experience with problem-solving abilities
* Strong verbal communication skills
* Experience with the complete SDLC
* Ability to provide quality and on-time delivery
*Ability to adapt to change

Second position: Java Developer
* Minimum 5 yrs experience in the following:
- Java
- OO Analysis & Design
- Gap Analysis of existing software to current & future designs
- Working with relational databases, preferably Oracle
- UML
* Minimum 2 yrs experience in the following:
- Development in a Unix environment (Solaris, Linux, HP-UX)
- Apache ANT
- Applications development experience in Client / Server environment
- Service development using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
-Non-Technical Skills-
* A minimum of 5 yrs IT experience on multiple platforms/technologies
* Demonstrated success and strong experience with problem-solving abilities
* Strong verbal communication skills
* Experience with the complete SDLC
* Ability to work well with customers
* Proven ability to work well in cross-organizational Teams
* Ability to provide quality and on-time delivery
* Ability to adapt to change

These candidates will be hired and in place by mid-July 2007
