Boca Java, Inc. is a retailer of gourmet coffee and teas located in Deerfield Beach, FL whose primary distribution is through the Internet and mail order catalog. We are a rapidly growing company quickly making our mark in the gourmet coffee and tea industry. We have an immediate need for a full-time Senior Java Developer.

At Boca Java, technology drives every aspect of the business, from coffee production, to marketing, customer service, and order processing. In this critical role, the Senior Java Developer will be a part of the team responsible for the architecture, development and maintenance of our proprietary systems, working under and reporting to the Director of Technology. We are looking for a self-motivated candidate who is willing to work hard for the success of the company and finds enjoyment in a job well done.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop and maintain source code
* Implement new and enhancement features for multiple applications
* Propose technical solutions for provided business specifications
* Follow company development methodology
* Communicates status updates
* Other duties as assigned

SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Expert, hands-on experience in the Java programming language is a must!
* Past, proven experience in implementing enterprise-wide applications using J2EE and Struts (or other equivalent MVC frameworks)
* Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML
* Experience in database design and SQL (MySQL a plus)
* Experience developing in a team environment
* E-commerce experience a plus
* Web design and creativity a plus

* Able to interact with business users to gather requirements
* Proactive and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
* Strong communication skills
* Able to troubleshoot and help with systems and customer issues
