Role: Android Developer

Location: SFO, CA

Duration: Long Term

 

Required Skills :

·             5 years software development

·             3 years with responsibility for software design

·             1 year Android native application development

·             3 years coding in Java – not .NET

·             Thorough understanding of the JSON data format

·             Direct experience consuming RESTful APIs from a web service client

·             Understanding of the HTTP protocol

 

Technical Skills:

·         Knowledge of Activity lifecycle

·         Familiarity with Android.xml configuration file

·         Knowledge of XML based Android UI layout system.  Ability to design screens using various layouts (e.g, LinearLayout).

·         Strong knowledge of Android UI widgets, especially ListView

·         Knowledge of Android UI theming and cascading styling through styles.xml

·         Ability to understand and provide recommendations for asset creation for various formats: HDPI, MDPI, etc.

 

Development Tools Experience:

·         Direct experience using Eclipse with ADT (Android Development Toolkit) or IntelliJ with ADT

·         Competency with the ADB (Android extension for GDB (Gnu Debugger)), DDMS (Dalvik Debug Monitor Server)
