Shawls and afghans for Hospice:

Would you like to contribute to the Hospice Shawl project, but don't
want to commit to a large project?
Mew Mew's will be starting several log cabin style lap blankets to pass
around. This will be a joint effort. We'll start them here at Mew Mew's
then they will be passed around until completed. Work on them as much as
you wish using up your left over yarns then return them to the shop for
someone else to continue on. These are simple garter stitch blankets --
no purling--great for beginners and mindless knitting. Put your
leftovers to good use! All the skills needed are: knitting, binding off
and picking up stitches. We'll show you how or help with the picking up
of stitches.
Use worsted wt. yarn and size 8 needles. I put a fingering wt. with a dk
to get an approximate wrst. weight thickness. Just guess--gauge doesn't
have to be exact. Get creative. Machine washable and Hand wash versions
available. You can phone first to see what's available or to put your
name on a waiting list for next afghan available.
