5 to 10 seconds to get new messages

Hi,

I'm having some problems on some clients with meteor.
I'm building a simple chat applications. And it's working perfectly on
my computer (in any browser). I sent a message and get it back
immediately.
But on some computers it takes up to 10 seconds to get new messages.
I was testing with a co-woker, we are both in the same office using
the same internet connection and both ware using Firefox. I got new
messages instantly, and he did not.

I can't even diagnose where the problem is. Can you give me some tips
on what could be wrong? I'm sure there are some common things to check
in cases like this?

Looks like users with antivirus software have this problems. I guess
because of the proxy antivirus uses. How can I work around this?
