metalink support for firefox.

Hello,

I'm really very disappointed to see that metalink is not selected for GSOC.
I would like to contribute my part to the metalink community irrespective of its selection in GSOC.
In the beginning I was not very familiar with the concept of metalink.
Just the discussion in GSOC mailing lists introduced me to metalink. After completely going through it. I'm amazed to see the advantage,  just by using simple concept of metalink.

Luckily the most priority project(metalink support for firefox) is offered as project under mozilla community. I'm happy for that.
Since, I've little knowledge about mozilla codebase. I would like to apply for this project.

welcome, thanks for coming by! I'll send you Ed Lee's address, he's
the mentor from Mozilla. I don't see any links for students becoming
acquainted with the mozilla codebase, hopefully he'll have some.
