Postmark Deadline for Retro-Futurism Extended


This is the final call to send entries for the juried exhibition,
Retro-Futurism. The deadline has been extended -- the new postmark deadline is
December 7, 2009.

Please note these corrections: Artists whose work is sold from the exhibition
will receive 100% of the sale price; the gallery does not take a percentage.
Also please note that the zip code given earlier for sending entries was stated
wrong.

Exhibition Details:
Houston Community College presents: Retro-Futurism: Exploring Objects
Interpreting both the Past and Future. The Juried Exhibition of works will
explore historical or traditional styles of metalworking objects and jewelry and
reinterpret them into a contemporary context through materials, design, or
function. This exhibition will be part of the official Exhibition Crawls at the
SNAG 2010 Conference "going to eXtremes".

The exhibition will take place March 8- April 9, 2010. Pieces selected for the
show will be featured in a podcast and will be available for free through the
College's iTunes U site. For this reason entrants selected by the jurors must be
willing to allow use of their images for these purposes. Additionally, artists
may be contacted for interviews for podcasts or QuickTime video.
