Metaflows,

Very interested in making an inline IPS for my home internet
protection using PF Ring..

My question is what other router/iptables configuration is necessary
if I have the DSL Cat 5 cable running to eth0 on my snort IPS and eth1
goes to internal D-Link wireless router?

Thanks,
David Grotenberg

Do not need iptables, pfring works just like afpacket but in parallel.

Livio,

Thanks and I am also a masters student at UH in Information Security
studying snort IDS/IPS solutions.

I will give this a shot on my test machine and let you know if I have any
questions.

Thanks,
David
