Can't upload completed tasks
|

According to the server status page, everything is running and green.

However, I cannot upload any completed tasks. Am I the only one
having this problem?

Speeding up WE/WEP by testing multiple bases at once?
|
| |
I've just had the above thought - and implemented it in Java [as a
small modification of my previous Java implementation of WE] - (very)
early indications are actually fairly positive - I'll let you know how
it goes...

Sincere thanks to yoyo, and his BOINCers over at yoyo@home:

who have been running some ECM curves, using GMP-ECM, on:
(M+2)2281, (M+2)3217, (M+2)4253, and (M+2)4423.
Look for an update to the main M+2 website soon, showing remarkable
progress - and hopefully even maybe a new factor!... more »

I see that credits are based on the lesser of the two results. This
is a real penalty for Macs. Can this please be changed to the average
of the two?

Since I don't currently seem to have access to sci.math, I'm posting
this here for the record, and for your/our perusal...
I wonder whether (quite simply) this was what I was aiming at...:

What's the target?

Well, what's the sense of those M+2 factors?
Lets say we find all factors for one particular M+2.
M=2^123-1 is a prime, M+2 divides by 12345 and 666 (stupid example).
And what? ))

WEP-M+2/M+2 Project loss of internet connection
|
| |
Hello crunchers!
I regret to inform you that as of late this Wednesday morning (8th
October) I/we have been without our main (broadband) internet
connection (I am posting this from a backup, dial-up connection). It
may just be coincidence, but there is some major roadworks (replacing
a water main with plastic pipe) going on right outside atm.... more »

Congratulations once again to the GIMPS project, who have just
released details of their new primes:

This, of course, means new ponds! :) - and there's fish already...

21-digit factor of general number by WE, in seconds...
|
| |
...shows the WE algorithm can work spectacularly well, at least
_sometimes_!
A while ago, while experimenting with the WE algorithm (actually
running as part of superfac9), I came across this particular
combination of primes into a semiprime, after a dozen or so attempts,
which yields an 11-digit factor by WE almost instantly:... more »
