Subject: WEP-M+2/M+2 Project loss of internet connection
Hello crunchers!
I regret to inform you that as of late this Wednesday morning (8th
October) I/we have been without our main (broadband) internet
connection (I am posting this from a backup, dial-up connection). It
may just be coincidence, but there is some major roadworks (replacing
a water main with plastic pipe) going on right outside atm.
Alternatively it _could_ just be that our cable modem has chosen this
moment to die, however that seems less likely as the 'cable'
accessibility light is not coming on on it at all, while the other
LEDs on it are doing (roughly) what they should...
Anyway I have been in touch with our ISP, to report the problem,
whether it is network or modem, and they are sending an engineer out
to diagnose, and hopefully fix, this Friday (10th October) morning.
In the meantime, thanking you all for your patience [and to let you
know I am aware of the problem, and hopefully working on it...]
Yours,
James (Wanless) [bearnol]

_Seems_ to now be fixed (automatically) [Wednesday 8th Oct 4.30pm
GMT], and therefore I suspect it was a more generic (ie less local)
problem at my ISP. (This has happened once before, though I don't
_remember_ the 'cable' light on the modem going out before). Their
site status report lists/listed an issue ticket for roundabout this
area (and a few other postcodes), so I guess that was probably it,
even tho' it didn't list our exact postcode. Anyway, that's good
news, :))) I'd better phone to cancel the engineer coming out!
