Hi y'all - anyone in the NJ area around the time of the Federally
Mandated Christmas Observance may wish to attend this:

WINTER SOLSTICE WEEKEND 2009

TWO days, TWO events AND a party in between! This two-day event will
combine the HumanLight and Winter Solstice Celebrations. Call it a
celebration. Call it a relax-a-con. Call it FUN, inexpensive and a
great weekend!

Saturday, December 19, 2009: Get together with fellow nonbelievers at
the NJ Area Multigroup HumanLight Celebration at Madeline’s on
Vosseller in Bound Brook. (http://www.njhn.org/

Saturday evening: Socialize at the newly-renovated Hampton Inn 205 New
World Way, South Plainfield, New Jersey (1-908-561-2600). We have
arranged a special room rate of just $65/night at the hotel. Contact
the hotel directly for this discount. We will be hosting the join BYOB
party at the Hampton – music and fun provided, and so is breakfast on
Sunday morning!

Sunday, December 20, 2009: Celebrate Winter Solstice at the American
Atheist Center, 225 Cristiani St. in nearby Cranford, NJ. Speakers at
this year’s event will be Dr. Ed Buckner, President, and Legal
Director Edwin Kagin. We’ll be offering a spread of great food, and
tours of the Charles E. Stevens American Atheist Library and Archives
(CESAALA), one of the largest Atheist-Freethought archives in the
country. Check out the newly renovated Center, and be in the studio
audience for a taping of the Atheist Viewpoint television show with
hosts Dave Silverman and Dennis Horvitz. This event will run from
noon to 5pm.

The Solstice event has a requested donation of $20 to cover the
food. This does not include the Humanlight Celebration or the Hotel
stay. The menu includes:



Tossed Salad and Dinner Rolls

Appetizer: Kielbasi and Sauerkraut or Meatballs Marinara (choose one)

Pasta (Side) Dish: Baked Ziti or Tortillini Alfredo (choose one)

Main: Chicken Francais or Stuffed Chicken (choose one)
