Can this explain some of the low scores in science/math/social studies in Memphis? Ken Ham will denounce physic, geology, biology & astronomy as legitimate forms of knowledge. Then claim that church (not the social sciences) are the true path to social reform. Next, Mr. Ham will advocate instead of embracing these fairytale disciplines such as physics to accept a more solid foundation of knowledge based on the Holy Bible (God's knowledge instead of Man's knowledge). The Memphians in the church will shout "Amen" when he does this sermon against the sciences.
It is possible (I venture to guess) that this influences education in Memphis. We've all seen these sermons that are common in Memphis. Everyone who lives here knows that I am not exaggerating. And nobody on this cite will be surprised by any of Ken Ham's statements.
Here is the billboard by 2175 Whitten Rd (near Victory Motorcycle) in Memphis. It reads "Ken Ham Present "Answers for Darwin" Nov 8-9 @ Faith Baptist Church, Barlett AnswersinGenesis.org (clearchannel, billboard #078536)
