BUG meeting Tuesday 13th March

Back to our regular Tuesday, let's hope nothing earth-shattering is
put on the Council Agenda for that night!

6pm at Coopers Inn, cnr Exhibition and Little Lonsdale Sts. If we
aren't downstairs, we might have scored a table upstairs, so check for
us there.

It's time to take stock of the good work and good results from the
getpushy4safety campaign, rally etc.

Well, wouldn't you know. Council is receiving the draft Transport
Strategy on Tuesday 13th, and it's likely the BUG will want to speak
at that meeting. We won't get a copy of the new draft until later
this week. If we agree with all of it then maybe we don't need to
speak at the meeting, and we can also just submit a written submission
if that is all that we think is needed.

What should we do - move our meeting now? Or keep it on the 13th
until we see the new draft strategy and decide then?

Well, sorry to cause confusion, but looks like we can stick to our
scheduled time of Tuesday 13 March. The new draft is proposed to have
a period for further consultation, which is good, because it's
substantially changed since the first draft. I'm proposing to provide
a written submission from the BUG supporting the officer's
recommendation. Then we can get down to work on it.
