both can seriously cost you convenience
(and/or cause some other kind of misery).
one is worth the cost, the other isn't.
sometimes, there's a fine line between them.
(or it's seriously blurred).
the most complicated thing about deciding
which is which is how either effects others.
maintaining ones dignity can definitely
take a serious toll on ones life and family.
however, if ones dignity is maintained
in the face of tremendous difficulty and
adversity, persevering can eventually
have a very positive result, depending.
the same does not apply to foolish pride.
one thing to consider is this:
swimming upstream can be extremely hard, but
it's usually far better than going over the falls.
even if everyone else disagrees and urges
you to stop struggling and enjoy the ride.
(all because of their foolish pride).
...
i suppose it depends on how high the fall is
(or how far away from the edge you think you are).
as well as what's at stake overall.
...
then again, most likely, it doesn't really matter.
as long as you're honest with (and true to), yourself.
and others.
...
in a perfect world, dignity would never be an issue.
nor, for that matter, would foolish pride.
