Dear Friends

The Typhoon Ondoe in Philippines created a big problem. In part of the
Philippines more than 100 people died and more than half a million
are severely affected or homeless.

The Country is not in position to recover fast because another typhoon named
Pepeng is storming different provinces near Metro Manila in these hours. The
water level in and around Metro Manila is increasing. The debris and garbage
stormed by Ondoe are a serious threat to the health of the overcrowded
population in Metro Manila.

Few data:

The population density of Metro Manila in normal situation is about 20.000
people per square km.

Now in such a critical situation homeless people have been camped in several
overcrowded areas. In some places the population density is 30.000 or more
per square km.

People lives with inadequate hygienic condition, their feet are getting
swollen and infected from prolonged contact with dirty water and muddy
roads. Their clothes, if they have, do not get dry due to continue rainy
weather. The air stinks with foul smell created by rotten garbage and dead
animals. The sky is still covered with clouds and rain comes down; not at
all a healthy scenario. There is risk that sickness and infection attack
more and more people.

Ánanda Márga Relief Teams are operating all day long from our campus in
Maamo Street, in Sikatuna Village preparing hot and delicious meals and
distributing to the people in need. We also distribute clothes and
medicines.

Many of you already helped our Relief Team Volunteers with different kind of
help and we are thankful for your generosity. Some of you dropped in our
campus different donations in cash and kinds.

This is a good opportunity to say to all of you Thank You Very Much.
Attached is the Relief Operation Report
