There must have been an update with flash, one of the many internet
browsers, with java, or on Google's end because now the street view
widget yields a blank black box instead of the Street View as seen on
the widget page.
Up until just recently where you see the Roman Coliseum, that was
black boxed as well. Whatever they did on their end to fix their
stuff, it didn't help get the widget going again.
My flash is updated, I ran cc cleaner, reset IE, and restarted.
None of that helped. When I rebooted I decided to try to run your
Bookmarklet and found that it was broken too. I figured perhaps some
of the lat, long info changed as I read that on some forums.....that
didn't help. The Bookmarklet was totally broken. I updated java and
now the bookmarklet works again.
However, I can't get any of the data it captures to show on media wiki
pages. I can't see it in any of the latest versions of the following:
Chrome, Opera, IE, Firefox. I even had friend check on their ends if
they could see anything more than a black box. They could not.
I'm not a coder and I don't know what else to do to fix it. Please
help. The widget was so lovely and worked so well, I really don't want
to have it stay in such a sad state.
Hey QUICK FIX If you edit your /Widget:Google_Street_View page and
change the line google.load("maps", "2.x"); to 2.s this will fix
it for you and load the stable version.
google.load("maps", "2.s");

Thanks! We got that a few days ago in our help and google api
discussions. It's good to have a record of it though. I'm not sure if
Sergey updated his widget. I haven't checked lately.
