I might be missing something here, but I can't find the place for
proxy settings in the MeAggClient. Is that taken care of by Windows
in .NET automatically? If so, would that also work in Mono?

At the moment our FFS will be running on the local machine so no
problems, but I'm trying to think ahead here ;-)

Soapbox XXMP library

From the outset this library (Soapbox from Coversant [link])
looked like the most promissing .NET library for the XMPP
functionality of the MeAggregator. Unfortunately my beliefe in it has
fallen to a low point. Although it is very extensive in its supported

change of folder name in SVN

I'm changing the folder meaggserver to meaggjava, because it contains
far more than the server code, for instance the clientlib in java, and
in future also a few plug-in scripts (i.e. delicious code).

I suspect this will break Rob's code where the server is started (if
you do this in testing your code).

Googlecode site having problems

to be having some issues today. This is affecting not just the

I've spent the day looking at how the FFS could be improved.

There are two improvement needs (please add to the list as you see
fit):
- Speed issues, especially for future inferencing implementations,
when using Jena
- Memory consumption issues on desktop FFS

-Didn't update the tree once a tag was added to a resource.

-After tag was added to resource (Google meaggregator page), the tree
wouldn't open. Couldn't click on it, however the rest of the application was
working

-After a while the tree disappeared so had to restart the application.

Exciting times. The prototype has limited functionality, as per
design, and this test is to check whether novice users will break it.
They will be given a script which guides them through a number of
simple tasks, some of which should work, and some of which should
fail. In no cases should the prototype fall over, however!

After spending a week stumbling around trying to write a user-friendly
client with a web-application I've started hitting API issues.

the chance to play with it yet, but I think MeAggregator should
support it on both client and 'server' side. Not only will it enable
other people to interface with us more readily, but I suspect it will

db4o object database

We need to have an accessible version of anything we create, so Rob is
going to produce a text based version alongside X3D (for screen
readers and the like)
This is also helpful in the development process, being easier and more
timely for debugging etc.

I've added the first basic prototype to the SVN.
Missing features:
- It only supports internal file locations
- reifications of taggingsand trust (who, when, ends, trust,
accesslevel etc)
- language support
It is nontheless a full server/client with the option of adding tags
and resources.
Next step is to add the missing features, and hook up our nice 3d

Just had a discussion on how the 3d views should be made (Shirley,
Rob, Edwin and myself). One of the main issues discussed was to
include different sources into the FFS.
After reflecting on this a bit, I'm thinking that this is knowledge

Good news!
We have a rudimentary FFS (Folksonomological FileSystem) ready.
I have an implementation question: When a MeaModel is to be exported
the accessLevel are used to prune the graph for knowledge that isn't
to be shared!
We have access level perm:List (Only list the resource) and perm:Read
(get all relations from the resource), so what ought to be exported

user id's

At the moment I'm struggling a bit with user id's. I've got the user
id of the MeAggregator which can be any normal string, for allowing
access to the file system (FS), either as a system admin (the owner of
the instantiated MeaModel) or as a user (anyone else, so permission
control applies).
