Description:   Req ID 24323BR Title Field Engineer, Associate Location AM-USA-MD Lexington Park MD Job Duties and Responsibilities  Specialized experience in the Aviation Electronics field. Performs technical engineering support on electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work under the direction of Senior Engineering Technicians in the performance of the following duties:

- Fabricate and/or repair all types of weapon system cables and harnesses

- Soldering components on circuit card assemblies

- Perform installations of electrical systems in Navy aircraft in accordance with applicable specifications

-Ordering and storing materials from the Navy supply system

-Designing, fabricating and repairing prototype weapon system circuits or compnents Physical Requirements Bending Carrying Crouching Define Color Fingering Grasping High Noise Levels Medium Work - Normal Requirements Lift 50lbs Repetitive Motions Requires Personal Protective Equipment Speaking Standing Talking Travel less than 50 percent Walking Work Includes Visual Inspections Working Around Hazards Working Both Inside And Outside Working With Computers/ CRTs Working With Small Parts Skills Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure Ability to use MS Office Ability to use PC Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills Interpersonal and People Skills Listening Skills Multi-Tasking Ability Oral and Written Communication Skills Qualifications  Qualified applicants must have the following skills:

-Strong electronics background, working with AC and DC circuits

-Experience working in and around Navy aircraft. P-3C experience is a plus

-Specialized experience working on aircraft weapon systems

-Familiar with Navy supply system

-Strong ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics

-Capable of working as part of a team, as well as independently

-Strong Microsoft Office skills

-Cable and harness repair and/or fabrication background

-Soldering skills required

-Experienced performing installations on Navy aircraft

-Willing to travel (Less than 50%)

-Must be able to communicate orally and in writing Degrees Equivalent Experience/Education High School Diploma or GED Certificate Majors None Years of Experience 06-08 years w/High School Diploma 00-02 years w/Bachelors Degree Position Type FT Date Required 21-Jul-2008 Shift 1 - Day Major Job Function Provides routine on-site technical support for customer/company network systems. Performs routine installation and/or maintenance assignments, tests, locates, repairs and troubleshoots network equipment problems.  Requires Bachelors degree or equivalent, and zero to two years of related experience.
