Description: Seeking a Civil Engineer for Project Management position within our Transportation department. Successful candidate must be P.E. registered and possess a minimum of five to ten years of experience in highway design and preparation of construction documents. Candidate must be knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of Highway, including thorough knowledge of AASHTO criteria. Experience preparing highway plans in Maryland is preferred.
Project manager will supervise and direct an assigned technical staff comprised of Engineers, Designers, and CADD Technicians, and is responsible for evaluating the capabilities and size of assigned staff for meeting project schedules and technical requirements. Project Manager will have the ability to successfully manage the planning, design, and construction related activities for small and large engineering assignments and possess the following:
Ability to lead, motivate, and train staff
Ability to plan and organize and effectively utilize people, resources, and materials
Ability to make decisions
Successful candidate needs to be flexible and able to work on numerous projects, juggle deadlines, and work with many personalities across discipline lines, keeping project goals in mind. MSOffice experience is required. Microstation experience is preferred. This position requires minimal lifting (10-20 lbs.) in mostly an indoor/office environment, but outside work, regardless of weather, may sometimes be required. Some travel is also required. Overtime is occasionally necessary. Position is paid straight time overtime and reports to the Vice President or Department Manager. Refer to Job# 08B-06-001 when applying.
Minimum Qualifications:
P.E.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
10 years of experience in highway design
MS-Office experience
Valid driver’s license
Have your own transportation
Able to work outside sometimes regardless of weather
Available for some travel and overtime
Able to lift 10-20 lbs.
