Important Announcement:
Meeting this Wednesday OCTOBER 28TH at 5:30pm
SSMU LOUNGE

We have a few important issues to announce and go over our final plan
for the semester! So come by and find out what we're up to. We haven't
had a meeting in awhile, due to mid-term madness, but we are back and
rolling.

On another note, some of us will be attending a short meeting
beforehand on Wednesday at 5:00pm to organize the sustainability fund
referendum campaign, in SSMU 302 (where Midnight Kitchen is served).
Shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes. over the past few weeks we
successfully negotiated with the Provost to commit 1.3 million for on
campus sustainability initiatives, conditional on matching funds from
students (2.5 million over the next three years). Projects undertaken
by QPIRG are the target audience for this fund, so to speak. It will
be entirely consensus based and awesome. Either way, we are going to
referendum on november 9th to vote. I am hoping to involve anyone from
the McGill Green Party who is interested in getting this through!

And now an update from the Municipal Elections coming up:

Projet Montréal’s Vision for a Sustainable City

Presented by Luc Ferrandez, candidate for Plateau Mont-Royal borough
mayor

Tuesday, October 27th

4:00 to 5:30 PM

Lev Bukhman room

On November 1st Montrealers will be electing a new city administration
for the next four years. Projet Montréal is our city’s progressive,
pro-sustainable development party which is proposing to move our city
in a new greener, more equitable, more democratic direction. Luc
Ferrandez will be coming to McGill to explain what the party is
proposing and how we can make Montreal an even better city to live in.
Come learn more so that you can make an informed choice on November
1st. For more information about Projet Montréal visit www.projetmontreal.org.

While municipal parties don't have any formal links with parties at
the provincial and federal levels many people involved in Projet
Montréal are involved with the Green Party, the NDP, or Québec
Solidaire.
