Sunday 7/20/08 9:00am VIM Strategy Session

Greetings:

Remember: This Sunday July 20th at 9:00 am and again Tuesday evening following the council meeting there will be a Strategizing Session to work on the first two missional markers we will be addressing: 1. Coming to Christ, and 2. Working through conflict constructively. Both of these meetings will be held at the church.

CAUTION: In a dry run discussion held last week by 5 of us we found that entering into an open discussion on these two missional makers was difficult. The issues have  "PINK ELEPHANTS" in the room that people know exist but don't want to verbally bring into the open. Yet each of us is somehow relieved  when someone else will identify what everyone else knows exists. Stating the obvious is often difficult because of the fear of irritating, even offending another person in the room. Yet to move from our critical moment position requires us to take chances and bring the obvious unspoken into the open in order to deal with it. We must do it with care, caution, and courage in order to move to a more healthy place. 

If we don't discuss analyze and discuss, we can't change. If we can't change we won't improve. If we don't improve how bright is our future?

Please give these missional markers some thought, and come willing to prayerfully and scripturally seek God's will for change in our church.

We can't get it done in one session, but we can make a beginning. Please come and be a part of the beginning.

These meetings are open to anyone. Please encourage other church members to attend. I hope to see you Sunday.
