Subject: New Tonner Jane Repaint from Maya's Muse *Serenity*
Hello Lovely People :^D

Firstly, please excuse the tardy newsletter. This auction began
yesterday, however, we had some amazing electrical storms which were
quite fascinating to watch, but were also a threat to my electronic
equipment, so the computer was unplugged for the day.

Yes, it has been awhile but amazingly enough I do have a new Tonner
repaint to share. Her name is *Serenity*. I wanted to create a repaint
that was the embodiment of Serenity, a doll that softens the heart
just to look at her. In addition, I believe my skill has progressed
quite a bit since my last offering (which as you may know was some
time ago). This I attribute in part to being really present while I am
painting, and having a clear vision of my intent for the doll which I
hold onto until her transformation is finished. After contemplating
for some time over the last months on what these dolls mean to me I
realized that above all else I have no desire to create just another
pretty faced fashion doll to hang clothes on. I do want to create
dolls that gladden the heart; are messengers of joy; and if possible
maybe even help bring a sense of peace to someone's hectic life. I
have always believed, and still do, that each doll I create, whether
she is a costumed fantasy doll or a fashion doll repaint, already has
someone she belongs to from the moment I sit down to begin the
transformation. And that once completed, the doll and her true owner
just need to find each other. I haven't really shared this before and
it may sound strange to some but that is what I believe. :^)

Update on Maya's life:

You may have wondered where I've been? Well, my health had not been so
good for some time and accompanied with other reasons I opted to leave
stressful Southern California. I took time off from school, left
California in May and returned to the land of enchantment, Santa Fe,
New Mexico. It is very beautiful and serene here in the high desert.
Much more peaceful and less expensive than California. It is good to
be back reacquainting with old friends and making new ones.  The
medication doctors said I must take has been replaced with herbs and I
am beginning to see improvement in my health. I am living on the
outskirts of the town and there is nature to be enjoyed right outside
my door which is also very therapeutic. I even have a tiny garden.
From my work table in my studio I look out the window past a small
chapel to view beautiful mountains in the distance. The light is
amazing here. And the sunsets are incredible. If you've never been to
Santa Fe it really ought to be on your places to visit list. Oh, and I
have prairie dogs for neighbors. They are so adorable*

If the sun isn't shining in the sky, let it shine from your heart....

Wishing for you Boundless Bliss, Love & Joy*

Maya :^)

Quotes of the Moment ~

"Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm” ~
unknown

“And you would accept the seasons of your heart just as you have
always accepted that seasons pass over your fields and you would watch
with serenity through the winters of your grief.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

“Boredom is the feeling that everything is a waste of time; serenity,
that nothing is.”
~Thomas S. Szasz

“Of course my moods change, but the average is serenity. I have a firm
faith in art, a firm confidence in its being a powerful stream which
carries a man to a harbor, though he himself must do his bit too; at
all events, I think it such a great blessing” ~ Vincent Van Gogh
