Dear Maxent users,

I was wondering whether you could tell me if there are website out
there, where it is possible to download a downscaled version of the
following future climate datasets:

A1b/CCCMA-CGCM2
A1b/CSIRO-MK2.0

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already had a look at
different sites containing downscaled versions of future climate
scenarios, but I have not been able to find anything useful so far.

Cheers,

Paolo

Good morning

Maybe you have to downscale the data via a GIS software or R.

Dimitris

 Hello all,

Concerning datasets on future climate; have you taken a look at woldclim ? It may be helpful. Below is a link to the site:

http://www.worldclim.org/

My regards to all and I wish you the best in your research.
Francis.

Hi Francis,

The CliMond dataset has the A1B (and A2) scenario for CSIROMk3.0 and MIROC-H, which are freely available for download:

www.climond.org

http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/j.2041-210X.2011.00134.x

All the best for your research!

Hi Paolo,

The CliMond dataset (www.climond.org) contains a whole host of future
scenarios:
*CSIRO Mk 3 and Miroc H models
*A1b and A2 emission scenarios
*2030, 2050, 2070, 2080, 2090 and 2100.
The data is provided at 10' resolution in a variety of formats (raw
climate averages in ASCII format), as well as a series of derived
formats including the full set of 35 Bioclim variables. We used to
work with the CGCM2 model during the AR3 period. For the AR4
assessments the CCCMA models did not appear to perform very well (at
least for the Australian region).

Good luck!

Firther to my comment about the performance of different climate
change scenarios, the results were reported by Hennessy KJ and Colman
R (2007) Global climate change projections. In: Pearce KB, Holper PN,
Hopkins M, Bouma WJ, Whetton PH, Hennessy KJ and Power SB (eds)
Climate change in Australia - Technical Report 2007, p 148, CSIRO,
Melbourne, Australia
Available from http://climatechangeinaustralia.com.au/documents/resources/TR_Web_Ch4.pdf
The salient point for us (apart form the state variables and spatial
resolution) was the model skill score -Watterson IG (1996) Non-
dimensional measures of climate model performance. International
Journal of Climatology 16: 379-391.

Cheers
Darren
