Hi all

Is there a Maxent package available in R to model species distributions?
Jessi

Hi Jessica,

Up to I know no maxent-like package are available.
By other side, you can give a look at Tom Hengl's
home page:

There you find very interesting ways of analyse
species distribution.

Cheers

Dear Milton

Sorry to bother again, but do you know whether species distribution
projections (e.g. for future climate scenarios) can also be done in R?

Thank you so much for your help!!!
Cheers
Jessi

Jessi,

you could use boosted regression trees (BRT) which are implemented R
in the gbm package. A good review is given by Elith 06 [0]

regression trees. Journal of Animal Ecology. 2008;77(4):802–813.
