The old robotics team had a ton of hand tools - we shouldn't need to buy
more. Nate - is the giant stainless tool chest at your home? I could come by
and create a subset of tools specific to the Vex needs. There was a tool
chest kind of made like a rolling picnic cooler that would be OK to hold the
tools at wherever we end up meeting.
I agree with the rest of the suggestions. Does anyone else want to chime in?

Subject: Vex Robotics Parts
Hi Jim,
I'm following up to give some suggestions on what we should buy to make our
robot, I've compiled a list below.
Vex Booster Kit:
http://www.vexrobotics.com/276-2232.html
Vex Performance Tool Kit: http://www.vexrobotics.com/276-1645.html
Vex High Strength Chain Set:
http://www.vexrobotics.com/276-2252.html
Vex 3-Wire Extension Cables:
http://www.vexrobotics.com/3-wire-cables.html (large)
Vex 7.2 Volt Battery: http://www.vexrobotics.com/276-1491.html
These are all from the recommended purchases list from the president of Vex
Robotics (a worthy source). The performance too kit is only necessary if we
don't already have a bunch of hex wrenches (something to check with Nate
about) and the extra battery is just so we can have a robot with less
down-time. Everything else should be pretty self-explanatory, the wire
extensions expand the places out motors can be and the booster kit provides
more structural supports.
This is just a preliminary list, feel free to add on to it/ask questions.
