Subject: Suggestion to add Open Sea Map as a viewing option

In addition to the Google Map and satellite view, I think it would be a
good idea to add Open Sea Map as an option as it has so much more detail
than Google Maps for coastal areas.

From their site - "OpenSeaMap is an open source, worldwide project to
create a free nautical chart. There is a great need for freely accessible
maps for navigation purposes, so in 2009, OpenSeaMap came into life. The
goal of OpenSeaMap is to record interesting and useful nautical information
for the sailor which is then incorporated into a free map of the world.
This includes beacons, buoys and other navigation aids as well as port
information, repair shops and chandlerys. OpenSeaMap is a subproject of
OpenStreetMap and uses its database."

I support looking seriously at this suggestion. Their is a current movement
to incorporate the technological resources that are now available to create
a more accurate sea map.

I also was able to include AIS targets on OpenSeaMap. However; it would be
a complete system if it included depths and channels. Same as raster or
vector - maybe both or the option of picking the one you like. I personally
like raster over vector. Also if you could pull your own AIS targets by
themselves would be a nice option, even if they could be color coded as
your fleet on your plotter only.
