Output KML for Google Maps

Is it possible to output tiles and KML that will work on Google Maps?

Google Maps us using Mercator map projection and Google Earth unprojected WGS84.

Cartographically correct answer is: NO.

The small scale maps (world maps) cannot align. You have to create two different sets of tiles.

You can use hacks which are stretching mercator tiles to WGS84 unprojected in Google Earth, but it is a hack and you should know what you are doing.
