Jahmal,

Here's my opinion and others may disagree. Skip Potlatch 2. It's on
it's way out. JOSM is powerful, especially with it's numerous plugins.
iD is fun to use, but on the OSM-talk mailing list people are raising
concerns about it. Apparently it's slow in Firefox. I'm sure those
issues will be resolved in the near future.

Thanks for jumping in. Always glad to have a new contributor.

Yes, JOSM has a steeper learning curve, but it's not insurmountable and you can easily search for How-To's on mapping nearly any conceivable real world situation. Also, I used iD on Firefox almost exclusively at last month's #editathon and experienced no performance issues. YMMV, I guess.
