I am visiting DC this week after 7 months away, and noticed there's a lot of updating to do for already "well-mapped" areas.

Bunch of new stuff in Chinatown, Geogetown, the suburbs, and the shops/restaurants on 19th St (btw K & L) have almost completely changed.

I think revisiting such areas would make for a good mapping party, and there always could be aspects that always have been incomplete also.  Or just keep alert for new places / closed places, and update OSM as you spot something changed.

Cheers,
Katie

I'm game! I have a hard time getting out to the less central mapping party locales.

Hi Katie,
Welcome back. Yep, well-mapped areas still require maintenance. I've noticed changes in areas where I actively map.

Recently I've seen on this list several good ideas for mapping parties, -I've kind of been suggesting suburban events, Mikel has suggested War of 1812 historical sites,   re-mapping is the latest suggestion. Is there a priority area you're thinking of revisiting? Since the weather will soon moderate it's perfect time to queue up a series of mapping events.

Also, are you planning to come to Falls Church on 9 Mar?

those are awesome and wish I could join next weekend.

Mikel has suggested War of 1812 historical sites,

also awesome! :)

Probably most outdated is H St NE, which we initially mapped in 2010... unless someone's been maintaining it.

Maybe Dupont Circle, which I did not visit at all this time.  I think Capitol Hill (SE) is still to-do.

Yay!

I will probably be back at the beginning of June for a visit.  Sadly can't come next weekend but perhaps can do some armchair mapping and add some buildings.

Cheers,
Katie
