Subject: Editing / Shortening existing roads
Hi,
Is there any other way to adjust the length of roads, position of the
road apart from deleting and recreating them? I find it time consuming
to edit such features as they have to go for moderation for deleting
and to get them recreated.

Is there any method in which we can adjust the roads?

Vasee

Hi Vasee,
You can use the 'Edit' option and drag the nodes to correct the
geometry rather than deleting and redrawing. However, the maximum
length that a road section can have is 5 km. Can you please post a
link to the feature if there is a specific instance that you are
referring to.

Regards,
Map Maker Guide.

Hi,

I am unable to drag the nodes and it is happening quite frequently.
Please use the following link

http://www.google.com/mapmaker?hl=en&fll=12.988605,80.199128&fr=0.000...

There is one Wrongly postioned (I have named it for our purpose) which
is perpendicular to Shanthi Nagar Main Road and Parallel to Shanthi
Nagar Ist Street.

I am trying to edit and move the nodes by dragging to the correct
position. But I am unable to do it? Is there any reason to it?

There are many such misplaced roads, which could not be corrected
because the nodes are not draggable after using the edit option.

Need your help to understand this and apply the correct procedure.

Regards,

Vasee

I saw CNR Nairs, post that there is a delay in moving the
intersections. If there is a delay then how long it takes.

In some cases I am able to move the nodes. The moment I click on a
node a "X" mark appears and I am able drag...... In many cases the 'X'
Mark does not appear and I am unable to move.

You can notice a similar misalignment of the PArthasarathy 1st Street
joining near the Parthasarathy 8th Street. There is a Kink now. It is
because I am not able to move the node to the correct alignment.

Is it because of my system problem or is there any browser related
issues?

If it is system or browser issues this drag and drop should not happen
to all roads, where as I am able to grag and drop in some cases.

Please clarify.

Regards,

Vasee

Hello. You need to select the node intersection fir editing then you
are able to move them individually. Choosing a road section for
editing will not allow the each ends move since they are connected to
other road features. Cheers
