Subject: Partner Exploration Workshops
Dear Mappers,

I recently helped organize a day of workshops with humanitarian
organizations, and an overview of the event was posted on the Google
Lat Long blog yesterday:
http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2009/10/powerful-it-for-disaster-r...

As you'll see in the post, your mapping contributions in Map Maker
featured prominently in the discussions and presentations of the day,
and there was a lot of interest by organizations such as Plan
International and the American Red Cross both in leveraging the maps
that you are all creating, as well as helping to get more people
mapping locally.

Google Map Maker team members will be attending several conferences
this fall to spread the word and help attendees learn how to use Map
Maker, including at Africa GIS in October, UNGIWG (United Nations
Geographic Information Working Group) in November, and the AGU
(American Geophysical Union) Fall Meeting in December.

Cheers,

Jen.
