Hello All

I am hoping someone can help. I just loaded Mapinfo v10 and added my toolbars and customised the look of my session (ie toolbars to the left, top and bottom). Then I was having a bit of a play and MapInfo crashed. When I reopened, my toolbars were all over the place (not where I had left them). Anyway, how do I get my toolbars to behave and stay where I want them?

thanks

Keiran,

Place you toolbars where you want and exit MapInfo.
When you start MapInfo again, the toolbars - and menubar - should appear where you placed them.
The position - and size - is automatically stored when MapInfo is shut down.

Thanks for that Peter. It doesn't seem to want to remember where I left the MapCad tools or any of the other added tools that I use though. I am guessing it only remembers the standard type toolbars? Selective memory, must be male ;-)

That's right. It's only the standard toolbars that are remembered. The others should be remembered by the tools themselfes - if you ask me

You'd think after all these years, and all the version releases, MI would have accommodated this somehow. Nevertheless, and "IF" (big word) the latest version of MI is legacy sympathetic, you may want to have a look at Jacques Paris'  "PadMastr". It will take a snapshot of all your button pads and restore them each time you open MI.

One of the best things to come along since sliced bread!

Good luck,
