Hi all,
I have to compare some data processed in Mapinfo and also share the
results with my colleagues which use many types of GIS software.

However, I am not able to make Mapinfo to export thematic map (Grid
made with IDW) as some standard grid format (optimally *.asc).

Does anybody know any trick how to do it?

thanks

Hi,

You could use the Grid Analyser tool, which is free and can be downloaded from -
http://groups.google.com/group/mapinfo-l/files?&sort=name

This will read your thematic grid map and export in various formats, including ASCII format.

Thank you Greg,
but I have some problem with using it.
I installed it without problem and it normally starts with Mapinfo
(Pro 9.0, Release Build 36) but when opening the main GA window, there
is only the list of grids but no buttons as shown in the help.

Second, how is it with the license? You say it is free but it looks
like shareware and keygen is attached (and it is a little bit old). I
do not want to break some law because I need to use it at work
(research organisation). The author released it as freeware?

The author uploaded the program; see this thread for details: http://tinyurl.com/n6wq7x). I'm not sure if it's been tested under MI v9 though (I'm running MI v8.5).

The other option would be to use the MIG ToolBox, which you can
download from:

Thank you Greg,
I already found this :-) I installed it few hours ago and it works
perfectly with MI 9 (OK, it is little bit slow, but I am lucky that it
works).
