Hi

I have downloaded an elevation ADF for Sub-Saharan Africa. The file opens in mapinfo and a light to dark elavtion image opens up. Using the info button I can click on any single point to get the numerical height of the point I click on.

This is all well and good, however, my study involves using gridsquares (made from gridmaker) in Sierra Leone. I would like to calculate either the average terrain height or the highest terrain point (both preferably) for each of the gridsquares in Sierra Leone. Also I can't seem to open the terrain image as any kind of browser window.

How do I go about doing this and is it even possible?

Thanks for reading and any help is much appreciated

Duncan.

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't. However the problem has been solved with the use of a different
data set. Vertical mapper looks very useful and would have also solved the
problem.

Kind regards,

Duncan
