Here is an ever worse example, I traced this from my own gps track,
the pic is way off and the road has been moved ?

I think it way out because there is no zoom available. every time we zoom in gps co-ordinates changes. i noticed this when i draw a map on a low resolution image and then high resolution images came and every thing was out of align.

It is also because all sattelite imagery is not set to real coordinates. As they already had mentioned in huge update of 2.5m layer imagery that with new imagery they are trying it to set to real earth coordinates. Cheers

This makes no sense to me sorry, just look at the latter link, the
road has already been moved and now it is way off, I traced 1000s of
km in Iceland from GPS tracks, then Google updates the pictures, and
people think the road is off when really its the background pic.

So what is the solution, just let people destroy what is correct ?

Regards

If you already have mapped the area using gps tracks and it is
misaligned due to new imagery update then you can file an issue with
"misalignment issue" tag in issue tracker with a link to that area.
GMM Team will mass move the map data to align with new imagery.
